Miami sucks
So last night I went running in Central Park with my good friend Caleb whom I went to high school with, small world. Not just to run mind you but to take in the Gnarls Barkley show in the park. According to Caleb and the trusty Gmap Pedometer we ran five point six miles. Which was a might bit more than my usual two a night and it's probably why my body wanted to kill me this morning. But the show was well worth it. They switched up the tempo of a few tracks and sounded really good. The capper for me was a slowed down version of "transformer". Cool stuff for a Thursday night. That and Joe making a trip out pretty much made up for getting bumped from the Miami focus groups. Though Scotty did inform me that Miami "sucked", but I'm pretty sure he was just being a jerk about it. Houston here we come! Boooo.
Today being a half day Friday (woo!) Danny and I decided to go check out "Little Miss Sunshine". I'm sure you've seen commercials and what not for the film and they've all said it's a "great movie" and all that. Well they're right. It was the happiest sad movie I've ever seen. I liked every second of the film and I rooted for every character in that little yellow van. Not to mention the entire score for the film was one song. DeVotchka's "How it ends". I had the song before the film so I could claim cool points but I only got it after seeing the trailer for "Evrything is Illumintated", which I still need to see. But since it was so good and it's such a good song I'm going to throw it into the player later tonight, so check back and listen up. (Update - It's now the second track in the player, enjoy.)
When I was back in the good 'ol wild wild mid-west Adam Kellog+g decided to whore out my sneaker knowledge to get himself some kicks. We ventured to the dreaded mall to find something "cool". After witnessing the most awkward battle of who could be more awkward between Adam and the teenaged shoe salesman, he decided on a pair of lux Macbeth's that I had pointed out. And now the cool people over at Uncrate are giving away a free pair of said shoes, can't blame a guy for trying. All while Adam just threw up a new splash page (slightly designed by me) which features said shoes. Craziness.
Final note. Thoughts go out to Tanisha and her sister whos in the hospital right now. Keep your head and your heart up T.
