Some place

All right then, here’s the new look. Not new enough for you? Go to another site then jerk. I didn’t like throwing the “blog” at people when they first hit the site. Word. Feedback welcome.

And here is the massive new play list. As I said it has a theme. That theme? My past year wrapped up in a quasi-relative chronological type sort of way. It either fits into what I was listening to at the time or what was going on in some way. Or not at all and I just wanted it on here? Also I left some out because I’ve already put them up. Well I tried for a theme. Meh.

Motion City Soundtrack – Hold Me Down – Nice little slow jam from MCS to start this out. Hey what can I say, these guys were awesome a year ago. And still are.

The New Tragedies - Kansas City Misery - I worked with Aaraon for a brief time in, you guessed it, Kansas City. He and is wife Bev are cool peeps with a great sound. You can listen to and purchase the rest of the album here.

Brand New – Untitled 7 – I’ve often said if I could actually “be” a band, Brand New would be that band. When Dave hooked me up with the new demos they were like crack. This track is actually my ring tone. Though I always have my phone on silent it’s the thought that counts right?

Liam and Me – There’s a Difference – I’m not a huge fan of the reemergence of the eighties sound but Liam and Me manages to transcend it and just be awesome. Great live too if you get the chance.

The Appleseed Cast – Hanging Marionette - I saw a review in Vice that said Appleseed was America’s answer to Radiohead. Yeah they’re that good and they’re from Lawrence.

Taking Back Sunday - Up Against (Blackout) – I know the first five tracks of this album by heart because I run to them every night. The whole album is great. Try not to move while listening, I defy you.

The Streets – Dry Your Eyes – What can I say about the white British rapper that hasn’t been said already? If he were a planet he would be Mercury. Hey look at that, I bet no one’s ever said that huh?

Rogue Wave – Eyes – This song was insanely misused last week on the premier of the awful excuse of a show “Heroes”. But it was cool for them I’m sure. Hard to decide between this track and "California" but your in luck 'cause they have it on their myspace page along with "Bird on Wire" another awesome diddy.

Brand New – Am I Wrong – Little bit of an unknown track off a split ep here. Greatness.

Bound Stems – Crimes and Follies – Just got hip to these kids. Very cool stuff. This track stuck out. The sound they produce has been termed “Math Rock”. Geeky huh?

Little shout out to the lovely Amara. Thanks for lunch today, you were refulgent as always. And now for your pondering pleasure, two quotes. They don't belong in the out of context catagory but they're good and deserving of note and thought.

"What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do."
- John Ruskin

"You have to understand something about art. It comes from
some place."
- Angelica Graynamore, Joe vs. the Volcano

Trendy look, as always. Props killer. Is there a way to bookmark the flash & the blog frame? I like the fiery-eyed landing page and all, but I've had the blog frame bookmarked for a while and I'm sorrowfully missing out on the soundtrack for the sake of convenience. I guess I'm just gonna have to suck it up, huh? Unless you've got some javascript in your back pocket...
